Recently refurbished home with exceptional scenery
The house is 60m2 and we've chosen to keep it in a light Scandinavian style that lets in as much light and nature as possible. We've added a large terrace that makes the transition between the house and its surroundings feel even more natural.
We value the presence of open space in our surroundings. We believe that the home is ideal for a small family. Our intention is not to crowd the house with extra bedrooms and sofa beds. We prioritize having an airy and uncluttered environment.
The residence presents a contemporary interior, complete with all the essential conveniences. The focal point is a delightful and luminous living area that opens up to the terrace. Moreover, there are two spacious double bedrooms. Since culinary pursuits are close to our hearts, we have placed a premium on outfitting the house with a state-of-the-art kitchen featuring all the requisite amenities. The dwelling also boasts a charming bathroom fitted with a shower and includes a washing machine for your convenience.

Private seaside
The house stands at the edge of a peaceful residential street atop a gentle hill, offering scenic views of the sea just a short distance away, approximately 10 meters from the house.
If you seek a revitalizing swim, you will find the shoreline at the end of the trail by the cottage. A short stroll of 10-15 meters along a nature path will lead you to the tranquil ocean. Embracing a rocky formation, this spot provides a unique atmosphere. However, for those in pursuit of sandy beaches and swimming opportunities, several beach options are accessible within walking distance from the residence.
If the west wind is too strong, it is possible to sit in the small garden on the east side of the house.
The residence was constructed in 1954 and has undergone multiple remodeling and renovation projects since 2024. It has been in the possession of the same family since 1984. The property boasts excellent insulation, making it suitable for year-round use. Heating is provided by a combination of a heat pump and a wood-burning stove.
A strange name
The word "Dovre" is not widely used in Danish, or in Bornholmian for that matter. There are numerous signs suggesting that the name originated from a misinterpretation of a map of Rønne. The area known as "Dâua ås" in Bornholmian, meaning "Due ås", may have been mistakenly translated as Dovreås.
My father, with a keen interest in the dialect of Bornholm, decided to name the Dovrehytten after the distinct linguistic features and the region. Interestingly, the area is home to an unusually large number of wood pigeons.
